Self-defence
What is Aikido?
Aikido is a defensive Japanese martial art that focuses on peaceful resolutions
Aikido focuses on using an opponent’s energy and movements against them, rather than opposing them directly. It emphasises fluid, circular movements and joint locks, rather than strikes.
The goal of Aikido is not to defeat an opponent, but to neutralize aggression and resolve conflicts peacefully. It is often used for self-defense and spiritual development.
